An article about the Face of Brooklyn, my talk at the Brooklyn Historical Society on Wednesday night and the Interpreting Brooklyn Project. Click here for the full article.
Today's post on Brooklynology is very interesting to me. I have been trying to customize a google earth map to show the locations of all the Face of Brooklyn participants.
Brooklyn based photographer, Nora Herting is taking portraits of Brooklyn residents to serve as a photographic record of the diversity and vibrancy of New York's most populous borough at the beginning of a new century. The resulting portraits will be gifted both to the residents that participate and for the inclusion in the Brooklyn Historical Societies photographic archive.
About Interpreting Brooklyn
The Interpreting Brooklyn Project is a group of artists and writers who will create original artwork inspired by the Brooklyn Historical Society's collection. The new works will be exhibited next to the BHS collection in March 2009. This project was made possible by the Getty Foundation.
